Professor Mark Cross
Professor Cross recently retired as the LCRI Professor of Renewable Energy in the College of Engineering at Swansea University. With over 40 years of experience in the field of computational modelling, analysis and optimisation of engineering processes and systems, he pioneered the concept of simulation-based design using advanced numerical methods on high-performance parallel computers.
He has worked with Crossflow Energy since its earliest days on conceptual design and analysis of its turbine systems and for much of this time has provided essential technology support to the Board. Mark has wide industrial and senior management experience. He was a Head of School, Director of Research and then Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Greenwich over a 20 year period, where he spun out a number of high technology start-up companies from his research team, including one the US which successfully sold to a multi-national corporation in 2012.

After examining the enormous potential of what has become the Crossflow Energy turbine, he formed the Crossflow Energy Company and resigned as the executive chairman of CarbonAqua in order to totally concentrate on developing Crossflow Energy into a profitable, global company, with the financial benefits that that could bring to those involved.
